Online Services

For patrons of the Otterbein Public Library, there are multiple online services that supplement our physical collection, allowing for research and community support on the electronic level.

Evergreen Catalog  – As part of the Evergreen Indiana Open Source Integrated Library System, we can offer patrons far more options for checking out material than we have on our own shelves.  Patrons can browse the collections of every Evergreen library in the state of Indiana, and can check out items from those libraries’ collections, having them transited to Otterbein within a few short days.

OverDrive Media Console  – The eIndiana Digital Consortium allows our library patrons to check out eBooks using the OverDrive system, making your reading even more convenient!

GALE Reference Resources  – We offer access to numerous online references through GALE, including Indiana History Online, Biography In Context, Contemporary Authors, GALE Virtual Reference Library, Health and Wellness Resource Center, Health Reference Center Academic, LitFinder, and the Military and Intelligence Database.

Reference Resources  – A selection of commonly used online resources and databases.

INSPIRE  – A collection of databases provided by the Indiana State Library.

Ancestry.com  – From within the library itself, patrons can utilize the genealogical research tools at ancestry.com without the usual membership costs!
