Pursuant Indiana Code 5-3-1-2(k): Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the library known as Otterbein Public Library (the “Library”) that the Tippecanoe County Council (the “Council”) will meet at the County Office Building, 20 N. 3rd Street, Lafayette, Indiana, at the hour of 8:30 am. (Eastern Standard Time) on August 10, 2021, to consider the following additional appropriation which said Council considers necessary to meet the need existing at this time:
An appropriation in the amount of $1,370,000 on account of the renovation of and improvements to the Library, including the construction of an addition and purchase of real estate, equipment and technology, including the incidental expenses necessary to be incurred in connection with said project. The funds to meet such additional appropriation are to be provided by the sale of real estate to the Otterbein Public Library Building Corporation and the issuance of bonds.
The foregoing appropriation is in addition to all appropriations provided for in the existing budget and tax levy, and a need for such appropriation exists by reason of the inadequacy of the present buildings to provide necessary library facilities in the Library.
Taxpayers of the Library district appearing at said meeting shall have the right to be heard in respect to said additional appropriation.
