After School: February 27
Leap Week
It’s leap week! 2020 is a leap year, which means February has one extra day. To celebrate, you can visit the library every day at OPL After School and be a scientist with our wind STEAM stations! These stations were provided by the Franklin Institute’s LEAP Into Science program. Today’s activity is engineering a wind powered LEGO car!
February 25: Wind Storytime
We’re learning about wind at tomorrow’s storytimes!
Ages 0-2 can experiment with wind and make a fan craft at Mother Goose on the Loose at 10:30am, and ages 3-6 can make this wind sock craft and become wind scientists at 11:15am.
Family Storytime & Silly Safaris’ North Pole Show
Assist your child as they become a scientist this Saturday, February 22nd, at family storytime! Starting at 11am you can learn and experiment with wind. Build a wind-powered LEGO car, engineer a wind-proof tower, make a wind detector craft, and more! We’ll also have prompts at each station for practicing early literacy skills with your child. Storytime will be followed by Silly Safaris’ North Pole Show and LIVE REINDEER at 12pm!
